The Musée des Hospitalières de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal houses unique heritage that presents Montreal’s history from its very earliest days and its founding by Jeanne Mance, alongside Paul de Chomedey, sieur de Maisonneuve, as well as the story of the founding of the Hôtel-Dieu by Jeanne Mance, Canada’s first lay nurse, the history of the Hospitallers of Saint Joseph and their mission of caring for the sick, and an overview of the evolution of health care and medicine.
