Documentary: La ville d’un rêve, directed by Annabel Loyola in 2022. Starring: Pascale Bussières and Alexis Martin lasting 74 minutes. Synopsis: Montreal was born from a dream, that of people who believed in the possibility of creating a better world in New France. Who were these people? What ideal were they pursuing and why? The answers lie in a 17th-century manuscript that is believed to be the hidden memoirs of Jeanne Mance. With an original and personal look, the filmmaker revisits this story where the past resonates with a desire that is still relevant today to create a world closer to humanist values.
Conference : Retrace Jeanne Mance’s footsteps in France, especially in her hometown Langres, with Documentarist Annabel Loyola. Annabel Loyola produced multiple documentaries on Jeanne Mance, the Hospitallers, and the founders of Montreal, which include La folle entreprise, sur les pas de Jeanne Mance (2010), Le dernier souffle, au coeur de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal (2017) and La ville d’un rêve (2022).
