Weekend Activities
The Museum invites you to discover the buildings of the Hospitallers of Saint Joseph’s convent complex with guided tours of the monastery, the chapel, and the crypt.
Discover the Crypt and the Chapel
The guided tour Enter in the Hospitallers’ Crypt enables the visitor to discover the Hospitallers’ crypt, a unique heritage site where over 600 Hospitallers are laid to rest. Jeanne Mance, cofounder of Montreal and founder of the Hôtel-Dieu, is also buried in the crypt. The visit continues in the Hospitallers’ old chapel, built according to Victor Bourgeau’s plans, and decorated by John Held between 1859 and 1861.
