January 29th to August 24th 2025
Internationally renowned artist Jana Sterbak takes over the Musée des Hospitalières with this exhibition in which contemporary works and objects from the collections enter into dialogue.
This is the first time that the Musée des Hospitalières has invited a contemporary artist to intervene in the collections of the Hospitallers of Saint-Joseph and the Museum. Jana Sterbak and the exhibition's curator, Johanne Sloan, have left their mark on the entire Museum, integrating major works by the artist into the exhibition spaces, moving objects already on display, and bringing out of storage artifacts that have never been shown to the public.
The exhibition Corpus insolite: Jana Sterbak thus offers visitors the chance to reinterpret the collections through an artistic eye, while shedding new light on the works of Jana Sterbak. The objects resonate with the artist's practice and bring us back to the bodily dimension in this exhibition which, through unexpected encounters and affinities, creates a new aesthetic experience.
