How much does it cost to visit the museum?

Do the admission fees include tax?

Yes, all the admission fees include taxes.

Is the museum free on sundays?

Entrance to the museum is free on the first Sunday of every month.

Where can i buy tickets?

Tickets for museum visits are available on site, at the museum’s reception desk.

Do i need to reserve?

Some of the activities offered as part of the cultural program require reservations. You can reserve online or in person, at the museum reception.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept payments by debit card (Interac), credit card (Visa and Mastercard) and cash.

I’m a student: how can i obtain the student discount?

Go to the museum’s reception desk with a valid student card.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you’ve reserved a place for an activity, you can obtain a refund up to 24 hours before the activity. But take note: some activities are not refundable. Please make sure you understand the conditions when you purchase your ticket or make a reservation.

What are the museum’s opening hours?

Is it possible to reserve a guided tour outside of regular museum opening hours?

Yes, If you wish to visit the museum with a group, you can reserve a guided tour from Monday to Sunday.

How do i get to the museum?

The museum can be reached on public transport, via metro (orange line, Sherbrooke station) and bus (144, Des Pins/Saint-Urbain stop); or via metro (green line, Place-des-Arts station or Saint-Laurent Station) and bus (129, 80 Des Pins/Du Parc Avenue stop or 55 Des Pins/Roy stop).

 

If you wish to come by bike, there are BIXI stations located near the museum.

Does the museum have a parking lot?

No. Only people with reduced mobility can reserve parking in advance by calling 514 849-2919.

Is the museum accessible to people with disabilities?

Yes, the museum is certified by Kéroul.

Are pets allowed in the museum?

No, pets are not allowed in the museum. But we do accept service dogs accompanying people with vision impairment.

How long does it take to visit the museum?

The length of a museum visit varies depending on the exhibition and the individual. If you wish to take your time exploring the museum, we recommend a visit of between 1 and 2 hours.

Do you offer guided tours?

Yes, the museum offers guided tours of its exhibitions to groups composed of at least 8 people. To learn more, visit the Exhibitions page.

Does the museum offer family activities?

Yes, all the activities are listed on the Families page.

Where can i find the activities offered by the museum?

All our ongoing activities are listed in the Current Events section. The dates of the thematic tours are given on the pages devoted to each activity.

Can i take photographs inside the museum?

No. The only object you are permitted to photograph is the La Flèche Staircase, situated in the museum’s entrance hall.

Is it possible to buy souvenirs?

Yes, at the Museum boutique located in the reception hall, you will find a selection of books, DVDs, postcards and objects related to the Museum’s themes.

Is it possible to eat at the museum?

No, the museum does not have either a dining area or a restaurant. However, when making their reservation, groups who wish to bring their lunch may ask permission to use the Jeanne Mance Room.

Is there a checkroom where visitors can leave their belongings?

Yes, visitors have access to a checkroom without attendant. Backpacks must be left at the museum’s reception desk.
