Screening «En r’montant l’escalier»
As part of the 350th anniversary of the death of Jeanne Mance, on the occasion of the next free Sunday at the museum, we will be offering free viewing of the documentary “En r’montant l’escalier” by Denis Gosselin on December 3. You will be able to discover the restoration of the old staircase of the Hôtel-Dieu of La Flèche, at the museum since 1992. Come admire the masterpiece at the same time! Description
Sunday, december 3, from 10 am, screening presented in a loop
Documentary on a 400-year-old staircase given as a gift to the City of Montreal in 1963 by the City of La Flèche, in France. Dismantled, put in crates and transported to Montreal, it will take shape again some 25 years later under the fingers of two fellow carpenters from Le Devoir du Tour de France, helped by a Quebec apprentice.
